Welcome to Beacon Head Energy Ltd.
Beacon Head Energy Ltd. was founded and incorporated in 2008, with the purpose of providing advisory and consulting services. Our focus is on business planning, corporate strategy, and new business development in the energy sector. Beacon Head is also the financial and technical manager, and lead advisor to the Beacon Head Energy Fund, a closed end investment partnership specializing in the alternate and renewable energy field.
Professional Experience and Qualifications
The Managing Partner of Beacon Head Energy Ltd. is Tom Ryley, who has worked in the North American energy industry for over 30 years. Tom was previously an Executive Vice President of Canada's largest integrated oil and gas company, and over his career has had extensive commercial, operational and new business development experience, as well as having held a range of senior leadership positions. He has extensive contacts throughout both the energy industry and with governments and regulatory agencies across North America. He is currently, and has been a director of a number of companies, and a past Chair of the Canadian Petroleum Products Institute.
Katherine Crooks is a Partner and Corporate Officer of Beacon Head Energy Ltd. Her experience in finance, marketing, sales and human resources was developed in over 25 years experience with two large integrated oil companies and one Canadian chartered bank where she held senior positions. She has served as a director on both government and charitable boards and has worked in both Canada and the United States.
Also working with Beacon Head are a number of former senior energy industry executives. Warren MacLean is an Associate of Beacon Head Energy, as well as leading his own consulting practice WAM Associates. He has had over 30 years of experience in the Canadian petroleum industry, and was a senior operating and commercial executive with Suncor Energy. His particular areas of expertise are in crude oil acquisition and marketing, oil refining, and product supply and trading. Warren was responsible for overseeing Canada's largest ethanol plant, and is a past Board member of the Canadian Renewable Fuels Association. He is a director and part owner of Safety Seal Plastics Inc.
Fulvio Santin is an Associate of Beacon Head Energy, as well as leading his own consulting practice ALiKeNT LIMITED - Energy Consulting. Over 30 years in the Canadian petroleum industry with both Imperial Oil (ExxonMobil) and Suncor Energy, he has held senior level operating and commercial positions in product supply and trading, crude oil acquisition, and retail operations. Fulvio also has a depth of experience in ethanol and biodiesel production and marketing. He is a former director of Sun Canadian Pipeline, Groupe Petrolier Norcan Inc., and Portland Pipeline Company.
Advisory and Consulting Services
Since being formed in mid 2008, Beacon Head has been engaged on seven significant projects, for clients in both Canada and the US. These assignments have included strategy development, commercial negotiation, business evaluation, and new business development.
Investment Management
In 2009, Beacon Head established the Beacon Energy Fund. Its’ area of focus is both public equity and venture capital investment in the alternate and renewable energy field, an area where the principals and associates have had extensive experience. The Fund's mandate is to invest in companies and projects that are seeking to commercialize existing renewable energy technologies that are expected to be cash flow positive within a three to five year time frame.
